James Norman Beaton - A Man of Many Talents (8/10/02) a tribute to the adventurous spirit of JN Beaton which uncovers the mystery surrounding his marriages & leads to descendants from both sides of the family getting to know one another. Origins of the Beaton Family (30/9/02) in which I seek to locate the Beaton family in Pictou County, Nova Scotia and speculate about their possible migration to Canada from Badenoch, Scotland on the Dove of 1801. UPDATED 1/10/02 : New census information supplied by North American Beaton researcher.

The Mystery of John Thomas Pond Howard (24/3/2002) in which the mysterious origins of my great grandfather are largely laid to rest. UPDATED 24/10/02: New information suggesting Thomas Howard and Mary Pond married in 1855 - the same year as JT Pond Howard's birth.

Mining the Best Mettle: The Rowes of St. Agnes (11/3/2002) the story of a family migrating from Cornwall on the Samual Boddington in 1849. Includes information about two famous Rowe brothers, William and Francis. UPDATED 17/9/02: New information about the youngest Rowe daughter, Nanny, and her husband Thomas McGrath.
